Performance poetry. Spoken word. Short stories. Creative non-fiction. Essays. Webpage content. Articles. Journals. Big, long to do lists on the backs of envelopes. Yeah. I just love writing.

In 2017, I worked as an intern researcher and writer for the wonderful project stories2connect where I produced two co-authored children's short stories and one co-authored journal article. My poetry sequence 'Wallpaper' was nominated for the Lancashire Arts Festival, 2018. I later performed at the Lancashire Fringe Festival, 2019 and was commissioned as the poet in residence, Burnley Literary Festival, 2019, creating a poem for display at the Pendleside Hospice, Burnley. Later that year,  I hosted an experimental poetry exhibition and performance as part of the arts weekender Openings, Burnley.

I'm always looking for new places and ways to perform, new writing projects to explore or webpages to write content for. My areas of interest are mental health and wellbeing, arts health, class and social issues, disability, sexuality and identity, and North West landscapes/ heritage.

"Burnley poet, Amy Lee is bouncing onto the spoken word scene with her wry sense of humour, honest storytelling and tense Northern landscapes. Images lie within Russian dolls. Truth in the grain of the cheap wood."
